About the Academy
In an effort to assist with the childcare needs of the Auburn University community and beyond, Big Blue Marble Academy is pleased to offer year-round, high-quality childcare for families.
With capacity for up to 225 infants, toddlers and preschoolers aged 6 weeks to 5 years, and after-school care spaces for children in grades K-6th, Big Blue Marble Academy will open in spring 2019. Located in Auburn Research Park, the center will be open to the public, with priority given to full-time Auburn University employees and tenants of the Research Park.

Big Blue Marble Academy offers a rich variety of learning experiences for children and promotes a safe, secure, happy environment. Programs reflect an educational philosophy that learning should be child-centered and developmentally based. Teachers have extensive knowledge in child development as well as ample experience caring for children of varying ages.

Is the center only open to Auburn University employees?

What are the hours of operation?
While specific hours of operation have not been determined, general hours include 6:30 am through 6:30 pm. The facility will offer opportunities for after-school care for approximately 60 children. There are currently no plans to offer after-hours or part-time care.
How do I register?
Registration for new families will begin in January 2019. Auburn University full-time employees will be given priority registration. A registration form (available in January) must be completed and submitted to the Big Blue Marble Academy office. A non-refundable registration fee will be required. Once a child is accepted for enrollment, the registration fee will be applied to the child’s enrollment fee.
- Children are placed on the waiting list according to the date of application.
- Waiting list priority will be given to University employees, tenants of the Auburn Research Park and enrolled siblings.
- Big Blue Marble Academy cannot guarantee or predict a child’s start-date at the time of application.
- To be placed on the waiting list, expectant parents must have a projected due date confirmed by a doctor.
